  2. That's made the choice feel much less daunting, and cereal boxes wahoo super cheap! I'd love a hamburger cheat sheet please 💜

  3. Wow…Jerry’s looks amazing. I usually go to Blick’s, but I’m sure going to try Jerry’s next. Love the look of the Canson canvas board. This was really helpful. Thanks , Karen.

  4. Omg! Sweet Jeez! I have never been in a shop like that. They would have to lock me in for a week and blow me down on some of those incredibly cheap prices! I feel so giddy especially as you zoomed about and you spoke so quickly 😂😂😂

  5. Nooooo, we have nothing like this in the UK, I'd need a week off to explore! loving my new mixed media book by the way! Oh and your black kitty kept popping up in the background… 3 times, (just sayin!).

  6. Loved that wish seen it before I had brought a mixed media notebook but I am a beginner I use it for my light mediums and have some fun but I have great water paper and heavy watercolor journals a least I am on the right track to do some of your fun mix media projects thanks a million Karen❤

  7. Your content is the most digestible. Thank you for all your hard work and making art approachable for everyone even if it isn’t ones “gift.” We can all do art!! PS. If I ever run into you at Jerry’s I WILL fan girl out hard!! Please do a Bob Ross segment.

  8. Thanks for all the info. I love your videos. I actually think my art abilities are improving. I'd love the hamburger cheat sheet!

  9. I Karen, love your tutorials. I use either watercolor o mixed media paper 🙁 please send me the cheat sheet link… thanks… greetings from Baja California..Mexico

  10. Wow now that’s an art shop ..never seen the likes of it before ..We don’t have the luxury of that much choice in the U.K. ,your so lucky ..Thanks for explaining the papers more I was going to get some Mixed media paper and now I won’t so you have saved me money instead I think I may just invest in some smoother watercolour paper as I use watercolour and pencils as well as water soluble paragons and pencils too .

  11. I mostly use watercolor paper and love it. I was so excited when the mixed media paper first came out.. but yuck😕😝 so disappointing. Thanks for the Jerry's tour! Have a great day Karen 💞

  12. Yay, mixed media!! My all time favourite (in art). You are so lucky, in the USA, having dedicated stores. We have some but they aren't a patch on yours. I should have stayed in Colorado!🤦‍♀️
Great reminder video. Brilliant for those starting out as it can be incredibly overwhelming. You are going at 100 miles a minute as usual🚀😅. Did you do the resin board project in the classroom?🤔 I'm playing with resin and your piece is beautiful! Ty as always for sharing your wisdom and talents. Thank Zoe, for her cameo appearance😸. Toodle pip👋🐾🐾

  13. That’s one of the things I miss about not moving – a trip to Jerry’s. Looks like you had a little drive but nice to be so close. Thanks for the video!

  14. I’d love the hamburger pdf . Thanks for all you do. You are wonderful. You are awe inspiring. Thank you so much.

  15. We don’t have Jerry’s in CA! 😭 But I order from them online all the time! Thanks for the awesome video! My fav substrate is my vintage ledger and vintage music book! any vintage book I can alter. 🤗😍

  16. Re collage on canvas: just put a book underneath it when collaging. It makes life so much easier!

Btw… You feeling up those arches papers made me cringe, its so expensive and here you are putting your oily fingers to the paper.. Lol. I blame the store for putting them out like that.

Oh, and I like Bristol paper for mixed media.

But my very favourite is mdf. It's cheap and smooth. I get it at the hardware store. Great for when you have a small budget. It does take a bit of prepping, but I just do a few at once.

If I had the money, I'd probably love those ampersand boards, but that will remain a dream…

  17. Could u please share how you made you cereal box journals? I loved how youev maintained it with beautiful paintings, would love to see how u made those paintings or atleast a flip through 🙂
You are amazing at what u do! Xoxo

  18. Love the video, girl! I agree wholeheartedly on the mixed media paper. It's good for like, I don't know, a fancy sketchbook lol. I'd like to check out your hamburger pdf!

  19. Like a kid in a candy store, I would just love to walk through the Jerry's — I need to visit there. Yes I would love the hamburger pdf. You look so cute in the video Miss Karen, as always

  20. I am in awe of Jerry's – sure wish we had one around here. Thanks for this tutorial – you gave some great tips. I would love the hamburger PDF.

  21. Karen I could really use a copy of your hamburger PDF-I get so confused about what can go on to of what when I try to do mixed media and I always miss one layer and then the project just doesn't work! So frustrating.

  22. Hi Karen!! I would love your hamburger PDF please! I'm a night shift labor and delivery nurse whose hobby is art! It's something I get to share with my 3 girls. My oldest, a teen, and I love your content and books! Thank you so much for everything you do to share your passion with others!

  23. Hi Karen! Love your upbeat, spunky personality! I would love the link to your hamburger cheat sheet. The Jerry’s store …. where is it located, and is it a chain store? I cud spend the better part of a day in there! I have only recently discovered you, l L❤️VE your creativity, and will be watching each and every video! I have soooo much to learn from you! …. Colleen in Calgary🇨🇦

  24. Just discovered mixed media, and love your channel, it's so informative and yet fun!
Would you please let me have the download link for your Hamburger pdf.

  25. Hey Karen, I would love to have the link to the hamburger pdf. I am pretty new to mixed media and have learned so much from your videos.

  26. Oh, how I wish I had a Jerry's in my neck of the woods! I have a Blick in my area, but it is a little over an hour away – just a bit too far, so I usually just order from both art stores online. I have been hounding Blick and Jerry's on their FB page for years to build a store in my general vicinity, still no luck. I look forward to your canvas panel series coming up. I have a handful of panels, several different sizes – but they have been laying around for a little while. I really need to use them. I am new to mixed media work, so hoping for some inspiration with your upcoming video. I would like the link to the hamburger PDF if you don't mind. Thank You!

  27. This series is so packed with info! I collaged on a stretched canvas a couple weeks ago and I used liquid matte medium. I started to doubt that it would adhere so I've left it untouched. Old papers and scraps are still stuck there so now I'm going to give your system a try. This was just what I needed to see to begin to clear things up. Thanks so much. Perfect timing💕

  28. Found you channel looking for something new and I now I can’t stop watching, already have 2 of you books and I will love to have the hamburger cheat pdf, I think you are very talented and fun, keep creating please🤗

  29. Hi Karen I would love the hamburger pdf. I am really enjoying all your YouTube tutorials and I'm learning soo much. You have taken the fear out of art for me and I'm eternally grateful. Hugs 💗Glenne

  30. Wow! just watched this video and the over-40 minute one where you went through all the steps in mixed media. and i would love a copy of your gourmet Mixed Media Hamburger "recipe." (it can be sent to [email protected]) to keep from getting antsy while waiting for next episode(s) on MM, i think i'll dive into the 22-part series on Faces; though i don't expect great results due to considerable hand tremors (not Parkinson's). These videos put you, as an artist who is an incredible teacher, level with or even surpassing the college level profs i've encountered and/or endured. Looking forward to the entire series. wishing i could watch the series today and tonight order goods from Cheap Joe's or walmart. 🙂

  31. Hi, Karen:-) I love this video 🙂 You are amazing. TFS. And I would very much like a hamburger clear sheet 🙂 Love and big hugs from Karina Møller from Denmark 🙂

  32. Just what I need!! Step by step guide. Lol, wish I had seen this video before I bought paper. Oh well, back to the art store!!

  33. I saw a link for the hamburger PDF and followed it. It led me to a face drawing PDF. While equally awesome because I am terrible at faces…I am still hunting for the hamburger. Can you help a girl out?

  34. Hi Karen. Good info to know and definitely will pick up some canvas cards. Love the mermaid! Please send me your sandwich cheat sheet. Thanks sweetie.
